Comedy Central has renewed This Is Not Happening, the comedic storytelling series hosted by Ari Shaffir, for a second season. The network said eight episodes will premiere next year. The show features stand-ups telling stories in front of a live audience and Season 1 included the likes of Rob Corddry, D.L. Hughley, Keegan-Michael Key, Bert Kreischer, Marc Maron, Steve Rannazzisi, Joe Rogan and Paul Scheer. It originally debuted as a digital series on cc.com.

“Honestly, I’m really happy with the way it came out,” said Shaffir. “There are so many crazy talented comics right now. It’s kind of an honor to provide a platform for them to show everybody how great they are.”

Shaffir, Jeff Tomsic, Eric Abrams and Avalon’s Sam Saifer are producers. Anne Harris is the executive in charge for Comedy Central.

Shaffir is repped by Gersh and Saifer.
