On Sunday, The Martian producer Simon Kinberg tweeted a character sheet presenting the players in Ridley Scott’s upcoming stranded-in-space adventure. There’s now a teaser to go with it, in the form of a video diary (above), purportedly made at the request of NASA to introduce the crew aboard the Hermes spacecraft as they set off to the red planet.

Based on Andy Weir’s book, The Martian stars Matt Damon as astronaut (and Cubs/deep-dish pizza fan) Mark Watney who’s left on Mars after the Ares expedition is forced to leave him behind in order to escape a massive storm. As his crewmates begin to head back to Earth, Watney must improvise to find a way to survive.

The cast also includes Jessica Chastain, Michael Peña, Kate Mara, Kristin Wiig, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jeff Daniels, Donald Glover, Sean Bean, Sebastian Stan and Mackenzie Davis. Fox is releasing on November 25 domestically with international rollout beginning the same week. Producers are Mark Huffam, Michael Schaefer, Aditya Sood, Kinberg, and Scott, who directs from Drew Goddard’s script.
