There were some up-and-downs in live+same day viewing as Monday night returned to normal after atypical competition from the Stanley Cup-clinching game on NBC last week. After a break for the hockey game, NBC’s American Ninja Warrior (1.8 in 18-49) was a little sluggish in return — down -14% from its most recent airing two weeks ago, tying its season low. Newbie The Island with Bear Grylls (1.1) was flat.

ABC’s reality lineup posted small gains. The Bachelorette (1.9, +6% from last week) topped American Ninja Warrior in the 8-10 PM slot for the first time this summer in both 18-49 and total viewers (6.6 million vs. 6.1 million). New drama The Whispers (1.0), which has been a big DVR gainer, ticked up a tenth.

Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance (0.9) logged the biggest week-to-week ratings change, down -31% to a season low. ABC and NBC were tied for No.1 in 18-49 (1.6), with ABC slightly ahead in total viewers (5.7 million vs. 5.2 million). CBS aired all repeats.
