Peanuts movie Snoopy Charlie BrownIt’s a new trailer, Charlie Brown. But it’s the same old story. “I’m going to change who I am and become a winner,” our young, bald hero says. Well, the new girl in class does look at him — but how will Chuck react? Here’s the first trailer in months for The Peanuts Movie, the 3D CGI big-screen rendering of Charles Schulz’s enduring comic strip gang. And they’re all here, with voices that hew closely to those we all remember from the TV specials. Hence the decision to eschew the industry-standard big-name voice cast. Snoopy especially gets a whole lot of screen time in this three-minute look-see, including a, well, dogfight with the cursed Red Baron.

The pic from Ice Age franchisee Blue Sky Studios looks like it’s going for wholesomeness over ear-blasting action, another seismic shift in today’s toon landscape — and a wise choice. The trailer, however, opts for DJ Khaled and the Who over Vince Guaraldi. We’re still wondering how “Baba O’Riley” — the song that famously calls out teenage wasteland — was picked, but if it’s good enough for such family fate as CSI: NY

Regardless, Lucy, Linus, Schroeder, Peppermint Patty, Pig Pen and the rest will be on hand when Fox opens the film November 6. Any interest, Deadliners?
