The Amazing Spider-Man’s Marc Webb landed on Deadline’s list of the overachievers of the 2015 upfronts after two pilots he had directed — drama Limitless and comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend — were picked up to series and landed on the fall schedule at CBS and the CW, respectively, with him executive producing. Both projects are produced by CBS TV Studios, which now has signed Webb in an exclusive two-year overall deal.
Under the pact, Webb will continue as executive producer on both Limitless, based on the 2011 movie, and Crazy Ex-Girfriend, originally developed and piloted at Showtime. He also will develop new projects for network and cable and direct pilots for the studio.
Webb, whose feature credits also include cult indie comedy (500) Days Of Summer, has a perfect pilot-to-series record, with all three pilots he has helmed, including Fox’s Lone Star, going to series. He is repped by CAA, Anonymous Content and attorneys Linda Lichter and Jamie Feldman.
