EXCLUSIVE: The entertainment partner at Loeb & Loeb LLP has been picked by the Beverly Hills Bar Association to be its Entertainment Lawyer of the Year for 2015. Ivy Kagan Bierman will be feted by the Entertainment Law Section of the BHBA at its annual dinner at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on September 16.
“The Beverly Hills Bar Association is proud to recognize Ivy Kagan Bierman for her incredible impact on the entertainment industry,” said BHBA Entertainment Law Section Chair Susannah Jeffers today. “Ms. Kagan Bierman is well respected in the industry for her exceptional skill at facilitating harmonious labor relations on productions and resolving extremely high profile and time sensitive labor disputes. She is also known for her commitment to women in the entertainment industry.”
Joining the likes of Marty Singer, Nina Shaw and Stanton “Larry” Stein in receiving the BHBA honor, Bierman specializes in the often ever fluid world of union and guild issues. In the changing landscape of Hollywood platforms, she has also worked on negotiations and cases for the likes of Fashion Police and American Idol as well as multi-media agreements involving SAG, DGA, and WGA. Sitting down with the Teamsters and IATSE as picket lines have gone up on productions, Bierman has a rep of being able to find a solution and get shows back up and running fast when faced with labor action. Additionally, at Loeb & Loeb since 2006, the attorney has served boards of Women in Film, the Hollywood Radio and Television Society, and the Anti-Defamation League.
Established in 1931, the Beverly Hills Bar Association is the 5th largest bar association in California with more than 5,500 members.
