The Hollywood Foreign Press Association said today that Lorenzo Soria has been elected to a two-year term as President. He’ll be taking up the post for a second time, also having served from 2003-05. Soria will start July 1 in the new gig, which also includes a seat on the HFPA’s board of directors.
The group behind the Golden Globes also elected three other board members: Meher Tatna as VP, Jorge Camara as Treasurer and Serge Rakhlin as Executive Secretary.
“I’m humbled to be elected by my peers and colleagues here at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and thank them for allowing me to serve as their president,” said Soria, who lives in L.A. and works for the Italian publications L’Espresso and La Stampa. “I will continue to be a dedicated member of this outstanding organization, one that works year-round to build a voice for individuals in the arts and entertainment community through promoting journalism around the world, varied programming, contributions to nonprofit organizations and bringing film and television admirers an extraordinary Golden Globes ceremony in January.”
