Today happens to be Global Smurfs Day, and Sony Pictures Animation is marking the occasion with the unveiling of Get Smurfy as the title for the studio’s until-now movie-without-a-name third adventure in the brave blue world. Casting has been firmed with pop star Demi Lovato giving voice to the single Smurfette, Rainn Wilson seizing the role of the villainous Gargamel as well as the previously announced Mandy Patinkin as Papa Smurf. The latest adventure has finds Smurfette and her brothers navigating the Enchanted Forest in search of a fabled Smurfs village before the evil Gargamel finds it. Animated in 3D in the style of Smurfs creator Peyo Culliford, mysteries will be revealed. Are Smurfs only blue or do they come in other hues? Are their mushroom abodes organic? And the biggest mystery — why are there 99 boys and only one girl?

Directed by Kelly Asbury and produced by Jordan Kerner, Get Smurfy opens March 31, going up against Walt Disney Pictures’ adaptation of Japanese manga comic Ghost In The Shell.
