As we reported last month, CBS left its legal drama pilot Doubt, which narrowly missed the cut to series, in contention with the intention to shoot a new pilot after some recastings.

The changes have now come into focus, and I hear the project is looking to recast both lead roles, played in the original pilot by KaDee Strickland and Teddy Sears.

Written by longtime Grey’s Anatomy executive producers Tony Phelan and Joan Rater and directed by Adam Bernstein, Doubt, from CBS Studios and Timberman/Beverly, centers on Sadie (Srickland), a smart, chic, successful defense lawyer at a boutique firm who shockingly gets involved romantically with one of her clients, Billy (Sears), who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime. The cast of the pilot also included Laverne Cox, Dule Hill, Dreama Walker, Elliott Gould and Kobi Libii.
