EXCLUSIVE: Josh Brolin and Danny McBride are set to star in The Legacy Of A Whitetail Deer Hunter, a movie project from Scott Rudin Productions and Rough House. The logline is under wraps and details are few on the deal, but Jody Hill is directing a script he co-wrote with McBride and John Carcieri. Shooting is set for the fall.

McBride, Hill and David Gordon Green make up Rough House, the outfit that spawned HBO’s excellent comedy series Eastbound & Down and are working on comedy series Vice Principals for HBO, about a high school and the people who almost run it. On the film side, they made 2006’s The Foot Fist Way.

Rudin, Hill and Eli Bush are producers on Whitetail Deer Hunter, which is being financed by IACF (Top Five, While We’re Young). McBride, David Gordon Green, Carcieri and Lila Yacoub are executive producing.
