The genre microbudget label behind the Paranormal Activity, The Purge, Sinister and Insidious franchises has scheduled two untitled features on Universal’s 2017 schedule. Blumhouse Productions will be opening a pic on January 27 that year, followed by a second on October 20.

The label announced yesterday that its BH Tilt shingle would be co-releasing Eli Roth’s long-awaited Green Inferno on September 25 with Universal and High Top Releasing in 1,000 theaters.

This weekend, Blumhouse opens Insidious: Chapter 3 in 3,000-plus engagements through Focus Features’ genre label Gramercy Pictures. The pic kicks off with Thursday night previews. Blumhouse’s Unfriended was a great horror cash cow this spring, made for $1M and grossing $43M worldwide. The estimated weekend opening for Insidious is in the mid-$20Ms. Blumhouse has a 10-year first-look deal with Universal.

Other Blumhouse titles being released by Uni this calendar year include M. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit on September 11 and Jem And The Holograms on October 23.
