The Carrie Diaries creator Amy B. Harris has signed an overall deal with ABC Studios. Under the two-year pact, Harris will join the studio’s new ABC drama series Wicked City as executive producer/showrunner and also will develop new projects for network, cable and streaming services.

Harris will jump into Wicked City right away as the anthology period crime drama, originally ordered for midseason, has been moved up to fall with an October premiere date to accommodate some recastings and reshoots of the pilot. Written by Steven Baigelman, the first season of Wicked City follows a murder case in 1982 Los Angeles and revolves around the rock ’n’ roll, cocaine-infused revelry of the Sunset Strip. Harris and Baigelman will executive produce with Mandeville Television’s Todd Lieberman, David Hoberman and Laurie Zaks.

Sex And The City and Carrie Diaries alumna Harris most recently served as co-executive producer on the new season of HBO’s comedy The Comeback. She is repped by CAA and attorney Karl Austen.
