A week ago primetime was the court for the clincher game of the 2015 NBA Finals. Well, the Golden State Warriors won, as did ABC with the best results since it started showing the series in 2003. But now, we’ve truly started to settle into the summer season with a Tuesday that saw America’s Got Talent (2.5/9) slip back into its top spot seat. With no NBA competition or Women’s World Cup match, the 2-hour quest for stardom show stayed on track with more auditions last night. But AGT also saw a rise of 9% among adults 18-49 from last week. That’s the show’s best fast nationals Season 10 result since its May 26 premiere. The steady rise continued for the 10 PM I Can Do That! (1.4/5), which bopped up 8% from its June 16 show when it faced off against the heart of the NBA Finals’ Game 6.
NBC won the night easily in the demo with a 2.2/8 rating and also took the viewership top spot with 8.94 million tuning in. The No. 2 spot among adults 18-49 was a tie between Univision and CBS with a 0.9/3.
Undoubtedly they’re missing the basketball series over at ABC – especially with the net’s only original of the night Extreme Weight Loss (0.7/2) taking a 13% hit in the demo from its last telecast of June 2. That’s a series low for EWL in preliminary ratings. Percentagewise, Fox took the same hit on Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader (0.7/3), which was down 13% from its last original of June 9. A summer special burn-off of World’s Funniest (0.5/2) felt more pain with a 47% drop-off in the 18-49s from its last original of March 13, a Friday.
The CW and CBS were all encores on Tuesday with the NCIS repeat coming in as the second most watched show of the night. The procedural encore snagged 8.76 million viewers.
