Aaron Eckhart has been tapped to star in Live!, the action film from Solution Entertainment that will mark the first project in the company’s new tie-up with equity financier Fubar Films. This is the pic that second unit action directors/stunt coordinators Darrin Prescott and Wade Allen landed to make their directorial debut.
Shot in real time, the Jeremy Drysdale script follows disgraced cop Kyle Penny (Eckhart) on his hunt to rescue the police commissioner’s kidnapped daughter, trapped somewhere in the city with only 80 minutes to live. With a deranged killer on his heels, Penny’s only hope is teaming with an ambitious young online reporter who films the wild chase live.
Eckhart’s joining the film marks a reteam with The Solution, which also is behind the Open Road’s Vinny Pazienza boxing pic Bleed For This which stars Eckhart and Miles Teller.
The Solution is producing the film, which now begins principal photography in October. Fubar is now fully financing and co-producing via producer Colin Bates. The Solution’s Myles Nestel and 5B Artist+Media’s Skip Williamson are producing. Executive producers are Fubar’s Peter M. DeGeorge, William Stetson and Lindsey Howery; The Solution’s Lisa Wilson and Craig Chapman; and Sentient’s Christopher Tuffin and Renee Tab. CAA is handing domestic sales and The Solution is on worldwide.
Eckhart, repped by CAA and Hirsch Wallerstein, also stars in the inspirational football pic My All American and Blumhouse’s Incarnate. He also is reprising in the Olympus Has Fallen follow-up London Has Fallen due in January 2016 from Focus Features.
