The Weinstein Company, which is just setting up shop in Cannes, has promoted Ennis Hensley to President of International Sales & Distribution. He had been EVP of the department, where he will continue to report to TWC’s Los Angeles office, working on international film sales of TWC and Dimension titles. Among his roles will be looking to develop new business opportunities and maintain existing alliances with indie distributors. He also will rep the company at markets and festivals — he is among the Weinstein contingent on the ground this week at the Cannes Film festival and market.
Hensley has been with TWC since 2009, when he was hired as VP Distribution & Finance, coming over from Yari Film Group. In March 2014 he began overseeing international sales and distribution for TWC, Dimension Films and specialty arm Radius. His roster of sales include The Hateful Eight, Southpaw, Lion, Adam Jones, Woman In Gold, Tulip Fever, St. Vincent, August: Osage County and plenty more.
Said TWC Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein, who made the announcement with COO David Glasser: “While my brother Bob and I come from New York and have always based our companies here, having a strong presence on the global film and television scene is immeasurably important to us. It’s a pleasure to be making Ennis the face of our international team.”
