Erin Cummings (The Iceman) has signed on for a lead role opposite Richard Dreyfuss in ABC’s miniseries Madoff. Cummings will play Eleanor Squillari, personal secretary to Bernie Madoff’s (Dreyfuss), in the project from ABC News’ Lincoln Square Prods. Inspired by ABC News chief investigative correspondent Brian Ross’ reports and his book The Madoff Chronicles, the mini follows the rise and spectacular fall of the now-imprisoned swindler and the $65 billion Ponzi scheme he concocted. Ben Robbins is the writer. Linda Berman and Joe Pichirallo executive produce. Cummings, repped by Paradigm and Untitled Entertainment, also stars on ABC’s upcoming summer series, The Astronaut Wives Club, which will premiere in June. Robbins is repped by Original Artists.

Newcomer Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been cast in The Get Down, Baz Luhrmann’s music-driven drama for Netflix. Set in 1970s New York City, the series revolves around a ragtag crew of South Bronx teenagers who are wild in the streets — nothings and nobodies with no one to shelter them, except one another. Abdul-Mateen, repped by Gersh and Anonymous Content, will play Cadillac, a fly gangster and prince of the disco world who’s the owner and proprietor of the most notorious after-hours night spot in the Bronx. Abdul-Mateen joins previously announced cast members Jimmy Smits, Herizen Guardiola, Justice Smith, Shameik Moore, Skylan Brooks, Tremaine Brown Jr. and Mamoudou Athie.
