UPDATED with additional details: I’ve learned that FX has put in development Brightmoor, an animated comedy executive produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Created and written by King Of The Hill alum Chip Hall and rising Detroit comedian Chris Powell aka Comedian CP, Brightmoor is described as South Park set in inner-city Detroit. It revolves around the African American pupils at Brightmoor Elementary.
Combs will executive produce through his Revolt Films banner with Sarah Snedeker overseeing and serving as producer. Underground’s Trevor Engelson, and Five All In The Fifth’s Doug Banker also executive produce. Hall and CP will also produce. FX had no comment.
FX has been looking to find a second hit animated series to join Archer. Its previous efforts have included Unsupervised and Chozen.
Hall’s credits also include Blue Mountain State. Comedian CP recently made his acting debut on Fox smash Empire.
Combs is repped by CAA, LBI, and Jonathan Gardner of Cohen and Gardner; CP is repped by LBI and Morris Yorn.
Why not an animated version of Get Smart to pair with Archer. Oh wait.
Archer is a workplace comedy, Get Smart is a spy parody. They have very little in common.

Shouldn’t he be producing this series for his own network?
Revolt is a music network. He plans to keep it that way since other channels which started about music barely show any music related programs. That’s the whole point of the channel.
I lived in the real Brightmoor (correct spelling), a decimated suburb of Detroit. It’s on 5 Mile – three miles deeper into the war zone than Eminem’s 8 Mile. The only comedy to be found there would revolve around ruin porn suburban photogs taking a wrong turn and ending up in Eliza Howell Park.
In other words, I won’t be watching.
What do you mean (the correct spelling) that is how they spelled it dummy. And you will be watching it just simply out of curiosity so quit trying to fool yourself and everybody else
Brightmoor is NOT a decimated suburb of Detroit. It is a decimated neighborhood in the city of Detroit.

I work with churches and schools in Brightmoor to bring resources and support to the community. I hope that Diddy is planning to give support to this community through this project and not simply exploit marginalized people for a laugh and personal gain.
All the naysayers be damned. Brightmoor will do doubt put Detroit back on the map
