Matt Lanter has been cast as the 2nd lead opposite Nicolas Cage in the upcoming film USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage, based on the true story of the American warship sunk by a Japanese sub in the Philippine Sea in the closing weeks of World War II. 900 crewmen survived, but were left stranded in shark-infested waters. With the Navy unaware the ship had been lost, the sailors awaited rescue for more than three days. Nearly 600 of the survivors died before help arrived, the majority under circumstances right out of a horror film as they were picked off one at a time by sharks. Lanter will play Chief Petty Officer Brian “Bama” Smithwick A US Navy Diver from the Gulf Coast. Sylvia Hoeks Joshua Henry-EuropaCorp’s Balkan War thriller The Lake has added Sylvia Hoeks, Joshua Henry, and Dimitri Leonidas to the cast. Hoeks will play the female lead, while Henry’s and Leonidas’ have not been confirmed. They join previously-announced cast members Sullivan Stapleton, J.K. Simmons, Charlie Bewley, Clemens Schick, and Diarmaid Murtagh. The film follows a Navy SEAL team attempting to solve a mystery connected to a long-hidden treasure, amid the chaos of war-torn Serbia. Steven Quale is directing from a screenplay by Luc Besson and Richard Wenk.

Dutch Actress Sylvia Hoeks made a splash internationally in 2013 opposite Geoffrey Rush in The Best Offer. She’s represented by ICM, Gang, Tyre, Ramer & Brown, and Copper en Co.
