Twenty three years after he launched Bunim/Murray Prods. with the late Mary-Ellis Bunim, Jonathan Murray is handing over the reins of the company. Murray is stepping down as chairman of BMP. The move comes exactly five years after Banijay Group bought the unscripted production company, which is a typical period required for the principals of acquired companies to remain at the helm. Murray will remain on board as executive consultant, focusing on development and overseeing some of BMP’s long-running series that include Real World, Project Runway and Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
BMP president Gil Goldschein, who has been with the company for the past 14 years, has been elevated to chairman and CEO, succeeding Murray at the top. Goldschein previously served as BMP General Counsel.
