Sidney Kimmel Entertainment has announced that its president, Jim Tauber, will step down after a decade and retire from the business. He has become a licensed psychotherapist, and he’ll transition into a practice with his wife. SKE hasn’t set a replacement yet, as Carla Hacken continues as SKE’s President of Production, reporting directly to Sidney Kimmel. Between her stints as agent and in production, she certainly would seem to have the chops. Tauber held the job as President/COO since 2005 and before that spent three decades holding high-level jobs at Fox, Anonymous Content Propaganda Films and RCA/Columbia Pictures. Among the 30 SKE pics he’s overseen are The Place Beyond The Pines, Lars And The Real Girl, Death At A Funeral and the upcoming Age Of Adaline.

“I am so grateful for my career in the entertainment business and the people with whom I have had the fortune to work,” Tauber said. “Working with Sidney has been a highlight of my career. This change has been a dream of mine for a long time, and Sidney has been supportive beyond all hopes as I pursued this new chapter in my professional life.”

States Kimmel: “I have truly enjoyed working with Jim. He’s successfully overseen all of our productions for a decade and has been key to our success and growth. He has my full support and best wishes as he embarks on this new professional venture.”
