Syfy has cancelled its scripted drama Helix, a little more than two weeks after the series’ second-season finale on April 10.

From Battlestar Galactica developer/executive producer Ronald D. Moore and produced by Sony TV, Helix focused on a team of scientists battling an Arctic outbreak that threatens mankind. Billy Campbell starred.

The thriller debuted to 1.82 million Live+SD total viewers. The premiere broke Syfy Live+3 records by gaining 64% in 18-49 to 1.2 million and 53% in total viewers. But its ratings dropped dramatically in the second season, down 59% in total viewers (560,000/0.2), and down 62% in the demo from Season 1.
