Griffin Dunne (Dallas Buyers Club, After Hours) has landed a recurring role on the second season of the WGN America drama series Manhattan.

Created and written by Sam Shaw and directed by Thomas Schlamme, Manhattan is set against the backdrop of the mission to build the world’s first atomic bomb and follows the brilliant but flawed scientists and their families in Los Alamos. Dunne will play Woodrow Lorentzen, a tenacious and self-destructive newspaper reporter who finds his way inside the gates at Los Alamos, discovering not only the scoop of a lifetime, but a chance to turn his life around. He joins recently cast William Petersen, as well as returning cast members John Benjamin Hickey, Olivia Williams, Daniel Stern, Ashley Zukerman, Rachel Brosnahan, Katja Herbers, Alexia Fast, Christopher Denham, Harry Lloyd and Michael Chernus.

Production has begun on Manhattan‘s second season in Santa Fe, NM for a 2015 debut on WGN America. Series is produced by Lionsgate TV, Skydance Productions and Tribune Studios. Dunne is repped by UTA and Industry Entertainment.
