The Shane Black helmed thriller with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling just got a bit of a head start. Warner Bros today announced that The Nice Guys will now come out on May 20 next year. Moving up the 1970s LA set Joel Silver produced pic allows Central Intelligence to take its June 17, 2016 spot.

All this shuffling will see the Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart buddy comedy hitting that summer sweet spot. It is also a possibly interesting piece of counter programming in a sense. Pixar’s much anticipated Finding Nemo sequel Finding Dory is set to come out that same June day. Some one’s going to sink or spy, so to speak. The Rawson Marshall Thurber directed Central Intelligence starts shooting in Boston in May.
