Oliver Platt and four others have been cast in EuropaCorp and Lava Bear Pictures’ thriller Shut In starring Naomi Watts, rounding out the cast of the pic that recently began filming in Montreal before moving to other locations. It already has a February 19, 2016 release date. Charlie Heaton, Jacob Tremblay, Medium‘s David Cubitt and French actress Clementine Poidatz also have been added.

Farren Blackburn is directing the Black List script by Christina Hodson that centers on a widowed child psychologist (Watts) who lives an isolated existence in rural New England. Caught in a deadly winter storm, she must find a way to rescue a young boy before he disappears forever.

EuropaCorp is co-producing and fully financing the film, which Lava Bear developed and packaged. This is one of the first pics in EuropaCorp’s homegrown release slate coming off the success of Taken 3 and Lucy which were distributed by other studios. Other projects in the pipeline include the Sullivan Stapleton action movie The Lake, the Barry Sonnenfeld-directed Nine Lives starring Kevin Spacey, and the franchise reboot The Transporter Refueled.
