March 12 will mark the first time the commander in chief has sat down with ABC’s late-night host in person. President Barack Obama did Jimmy Kimmel Live! via satellite back in June 2008, when he was a mere senator from Illinois looking to become the leader of the free world. Michelle Obama made a taped appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s show back in 2012, six months after he hosted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in D.C. Also set as a guest on Kimmel that night is Sean Penn, making a rare second-fiddle talk show appearance.

Never one to waste a fundraising opportunity, the President will also be looking for some Hollywood cash while in town. Obama is set to be the headliner at a $33,400 per couple DNC event at ICM Partners co-founder Chris Silbermann and his wife Julia Franz’s house. This fundraiser will be Obama’s 21st visit to the LA area since taking office. He doesn’t come for the weather – only three of those occasions haven’t been about hitting up Tinseltown donors for dough. The last time the President was in town was back in October – which included a big bucks love-in at Gwyneth Paltrow’s Brentwood home.
