After a recurring stint this season, Jaime Pressly is joining the cast of CBS’ sophomore comedy series Mom as a regular for its just ordered third season. Pressly will continue in her role as Jill, a newly sober woman with a lot of money that Christy (Anna Faris) is trying to help but gets more than her share. Pressly made her Mom debut in the second season premiere in October and has appeared in five episodes to date. In addition to Faris, Mom also stars Allison Janney, who won a supporting actress in a comedy series Emmy for her role last year.
Pressly is an Emmy winner in the same category for her role on NBC’s My Name Is Earl. She recently toplined the TV Land comedy Jennifer Falls. Pressly is repped by CAA, Atlas Artists and Bloom Hergott.
Mom has thrived in its move from Monday to Thursday this season. It is up +42% in viewers (11.89m) and +16% in adults 18-49 (2.9/09) vs. Season 1. CBS just renewed all of its established comedy series, the Chuck Lorre-produced Mom and Mike & Molly (his Big Bang Theory already had a 3-year pickup) as well 2 Broke Girls.
