EXCLUSIVE: Anna Kendrick is reteaming with her Rocket Science director Jeffrey Blitz for the comedy Table 19, about a group of strangers who are marooned at the misfits table at a destination wedding. The pic begins shooting next week in Atlanta. 21 Laps and 3311 are producing, with the latter financing. The film also stars Craig Robinson, Lisa Kudrow, Stephen Merchant, Tony Revolori, June Squibb, Wyatt Russell and Amanda Crew. Tom McNulty is executive producing Table 19.
Rocket Science was one of the early art house successes for Kendrick before her profile was catapulted by the Twilight films and her Oscar-nominated supporting turn in 2009’s Up in the Air. The film followed a stuttering teenage boy who overcomes his handicap by joining the high school debate team. Blitz won the directing award at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize. Rocket Science also received Independent Spirit Award noms for Best First Feature, Best First Screenplay and Best Supporting Female for Kendrick.
