Inside Edition announced this morning Zoey Tur is joining the program as “special correspondent” for the month of February which, the program claims, makes her the country’s first transgender TV reporter.
Tur formerly known as Chopper Bob, is best known as the helicopter pilot who covered the OJ Simpson police pursuit, and captured the Los Angeles riots from the air after the beating of Reginald Denny. Tur will take the TV program “through her transformation” on Tuesday. Inside Edition says “some” have “questioned whether she has retained her pilot skills after her gender surgery” and, on Wednesday, Tur will take to the air “for the first time to test that assertion.”
Among those “some” count Tur. Back in 2013, TMZ interviewed Tur who, the web site said, was in the midst of a transgender procedure.” In that interview, Tur said women cannot make the same decisions as can a man man when piloting an aircraft.

Explaining that “the big changes are with your brain” at that stage of the process, Tur explained to TMZ’s Harvey Levin at the time. “You start thinking like a woman. Where I was able to make decisions, flying and being in really rough conditions, weather conditions — I don’t know if I’d be as good a pilot (when the transition is complete).” As a woman “you become a concensus builder, you start being more analytical, not as impulsive as you are then you’re a guy,” Tur said.

Wow, those quotes sound incredibly misogynistic. I don’t know if I’d be comfortable with this person being held up as a transgender pioneer.
Exactly. I guess she feels that self-loathing is “exquisite”. Please, there are enough men on this earth that think we’re incapable of difficult tasks because we’re female.
One tip to her, her artificial hormones make her LOOK like a female (sort of) but, obviously her ‘female brain’ is still filled with testosterone. End of story.
Really? “the big changes in your brain”? What a complete idiot. As a female pilot, I’m insulted by his stupidity. His ‘hormone shots’ and silicone boobs don’t make him/her a lesser qualified pilot! I’m not demeaning him/her because of his/her transitioning — I’m simply sitting that his/her ignorance about female vs male pilots is bullshit. I’ve been dealing with this sort of ignorant rhetoric for a long time – as do all women. It sounds as if he/she still harbors his/her ignorant, sexist, stupidity that he grew up with as a boy, then a man, then a wannabe woman.
Funny, as a natural born woman, I’ve fought hard to be considered more than the sum of my hormones and boobs. Take away his/her hormones, and silicone boobs, and he/she would be one butt ugly man. It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature!
I’m a proud, female pilot who takes tremendous offensive to his/her sexist, ignorant statements. If wearing fingernail polish and lipstick has changed HIS ability to fly, here’s a tip — DON’T.
Zoey Tur is just telling her truth. It’s not difficult to understand what she’s really saying which is that having gone through this procedure, she’s having to relearn many things she once mastered. And that’s because: yes, your brain does in fact function differently when you alter your body in such a profound way. She’s not just a “butt ugly man” in a dress with a fresh coat of paint on “his” nails. (It astounds me, by the way, how openly offensive you can be when talking about being offended.) She’s a completely new person, physically, and that includes brain function.
While I’m happy for Ms. Tur, I believe Colorado’s Eden Lane is the nation’s first trans journalist.
And the agenda continues.
Right. How dare anyone unlike you seek employment.
What the fack did I just witness???
