Taliban ShuffleEXCLUSIVE: Rugby star-turned-Aussie TV star Steve Peacocke has been cast opposite Tina Fey and Margot Robbie in the Paramount Pictures movie based on Kim Barker’s wartime memoir Taliban Shuffle.

In the currently untitled project, Fey plays a journalist and self-confessed adrenaline junkie who recounts her six years of reporting on terrorism and international affairs in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. Peacocke will play Nic, her alpha-male Kiwi bodygaurd who has the hots for her. This is the pic that at one point was titled Fun House.

Peacocke recently ended a multi-year run as a star of popular Aussie soap Home And Away — the same launchpad used by another Aussie import, Chris Hemsworth. It’s a country that keeps churning out tough guys, a list that includes 300: Rise Of An Empire and Strike Back star Sullivan Stapleton. Peacocke is angling for a similar push, and he just made his major film debut last year with a part in Paramount/MGM’s Hercules.

He is repped by CAA, Brillstein, Hansen Jacobsen and Sophie Jermyn in Australia.
