Broadchurch producer Kudos has named two executives to act as joint CEOs, replacing the exiting Jane Featherstone who announced her departure in January. Diederick Santer and Dan Isaacs will transition into the posts as Featherstone prepares to leave in May. Santer is joining Kudos, part of the newly formed Endemol Shine Group, from Lovely Day which he established with Kudos in 2010 and which produces ITV’s hit investigative vicar drama Grantchester. Isaacs joined Kudos in 2003 and is currently COO.
Longtime acquaintances, Santer and Isaacs will split up the CEO role with Santer leading creative and Isaacs overseeing commercial.
Santer’s other credits include Jane Eyre and exec producing flagship soap EastEnders at the BBC. He will continue to exec produce Grantchester, which is gearing up for production on a second season. A new managing director for Lovely Day will be recruited in due course.
Isaacs has overseen the commercial, legal, financial and operational divisions of Kudos, Lovely Day and fellow sister company Brown Eyed Boy, as well as being responsible for all international co-production and third party and distribution negotiations. His recent credits include The Tunnel (Sky Atlantic/Canal Plus France) and Grantchester.
Upcoming for Kudos are River for BBC One and Netflix, Humans for Channel 4 and AMC, and a second series of The Tunnel.
