Zodiak Americas’ Jonny Slow has stepped down from his role as CEO, the company said today. Formerly COO of Zodiak Media, Slow oversaw the creation of Zodiak Americas in 2012 and the reorganization of its activities to best serve the needs of Zodiak’s non-U.S. production companies.
Slow will continue to work with Zodiak on a consultancy basis over a handover period with Marc-Antoine d’Halluin, CEO of Zodiak Media, taking the role on an interim basis. He’ll be supported by Mike Gamson (CEO of Zodiak New York), Cem Yeter and Joel Karsberg (co-CEOs of Zodiak Los Angeles) as well as Deborah Henderson (General Counsel at Zodiak Americas) and Andy Lennon (CFO & COO of Zodiak Americas).
Zodiak’s US operation has gone through a number of top executive changes, with former CEOs Grant Mansfield and Natalka Znak among those departing in the last few years. Slow was installed in his most recent post before d’Halluin took over the mothership company in 2013, replacing David Frank as CEO. The company has struggled to recapture its early success in the U.S. with shows like Wife Swap, Hardcore Pawn and Being Human.
“We are extremely grateful to Jonny for his efforts on behalf of Zodiak, and before that RDF, over the last 10 years,” d’Halluin said. “He has created a U.S. platform from which we are set to grow rapidly in the future and leaves us with excellent relationships in our creative and business partnerships that will allow us to execute that growth. We are sorry to see him go and wish him luck with his future endeavors which, having worked closely with him over the last 18 months, I know are certain to be as exciting as the ride he has had here.”
Said Slow: “I am extremely grateful to Zodiak and De Agostini for the opportunities they have given me. However after 10 years with RDF and Zodiak and, having had a lot of fun building Zodiak Americas over the last three years, the time is right for me to move on to my next endeavor.”
