EXCLUSIVE: Jerry Lewis has signed on to join Nicolas Cage, Elijah Wood and Sky Ferreira in The Trust, a drama that’s shooting in Las Vegas with Ben and Alex Brewer directing. Cage and Wood play two corrupt cops who are stuck working the evidence room of the Las Vegas police department. When one discovers there is a vault full of drug money sealed in the back of a convenience store, both cops team up to pull a heist. Lewis will play the father of Cage’s crooked cop character.
The iconic actor works sparingly, and it’s a coup to get him. He was last seen onscreen in Max Rose, which played Cannes. Ben Brewer and Adam Hirsch wrote the script and Highland Film Group is handling international sales. Saban Films acquired North American rights at AFM.
Molly Hassell and Braxton Pope are producing and the film is a Hassell Free Production in association with Electric Shadow Fund, the latter of which is financing, and Prettybird Pictures. Mike Nilon is exec producer with HFG’s Arianne Fraser and Delphine Perrier. Lewis is represented by APA.
