British audiences will get to see The Interview after all with the news that the film will get a wide theatrical release in the UK and Ireland on February 6. Sony initially withdrew the film following the major hack against the company. An outcry against that decision, led in part by President Obama who described it as “a mistake”, eventually saw Sony release the film in the U.S. in select independent theatres and on various on-demand platforms, where it has made over $31 million digitally and $5 million theatrically.

For now, at least, The Interview will only be released in cinemas in the UK and Ireland.  There is still no word on if, and when, the film will be released in other international territories.
