Universal Pictures and MRC’s first Ted in 2012 created a bull market with Seth MacFarlane’s teddy bear with a mouth of a truck driver, with a global gross of $549.4 million easily securing a sequel. Now comes the first look at Ted 2, which features Ted marrying his sweetheart and taking on the U.S. justice system to prove he’s human so they can adopt (this after a failed sperm bank visit with his best buddy Mark Wahlberg). Amanda Seyfried and Jessica Barth co-star.

Universal is giving the pic a boost with a Super Bowl spot ahead of its June 26 release. At it appears MacFarlane and scribes Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild are keeping the gross-out bar high, this will be a fun one to watch at the box office: The trailer delivers, but do fans of the first want more of the same? Pics like Hangover 3 and Horrible Bosses 2 have shown that’s not always the case.
