Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by James Patterson, Zoo is a global thriller about a wave of violent animal attacks against humans across the planet. As the assaults become more cunning, coordinated and ferocious, a young renegade biologist, Jackson Oz (Wolk), is thrust into the race to unlock the pandemic’s mystery before there’s no place left for people to hide. Connolly, who also co-stars on ABC midseason drama The Whispers, plays Jamie, a passionate young journalist intent on uncovering the story behind the mysterious animal behavior she’s been tracking. Burke plays Mitch, a straight-shooting large animal veterinarian who prefers the simple company of animals to navigating the complexities of humans. Also previously cast in the series are Nora Arnezeder and Nonso Anozie.
Jeff Pinkner, Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg wrote the adaptation and are executive producers through their Midnight Radio banner alongside James Mangold, Cathy Konrad, James Patterson, Bill Robinson, Leopoldo Gout and Steve Bowen for CBS TV Studios. Brad Anderson is directing. Zoo will join CBS’ returning summer dramas Under The Dome and Extant.
Burke is repped by Gersh and Ellen Meyer Management, Connolly with Paradigm and Untitled.
