Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell’s Safehouse Pictures, which had been housed at Warner Bros under Akiva Goldsman’s deal, has signed its own two-year overall deal with Sony Pictures.

Safehouse Pictures logoHarold hatched the multi-part King Arthur film series that will star Charlie Hunnam, and this becomes the latest writer-centric creative company to fly its banner at a studio. The company also announced that Matt Schwartz has joined Harold and Tunnell as Vice President. He previously was VP Film and Television at the Weed Road/Safehouse collaborative.

The first of six Camelot pics at Warner Bros hatched by Harold is called Knights Of The Roundtable: King Arthur. Guy Ritchie is directing Hunnam, Astrid Berger Frisby, Jude Law and Djimon Hounsou. Weed Road and Safehouse are producing with Ritchie’s producing partner Lionel Wigram. Harold is set to write the next installment. Harold previously wrote the Tom Cruise starrer Edge Of Tomorrow and Awake, which he directed. Safehouse also is  producing Space Invaders, the Zac Efron starrer The Falling and the Sony Pictures Television/WGN America original series Underground.
