Ian McShane (Deadwood) has been tapped for a major recurring role on the upcoming third season of Showtime’s Ray Donovan. In a season-long arc, McShane will play Malcolm Finney, a prominent movie producer and billionaire who hires Ray (Liev Schreiber) to get his family out of a potentially catastrophic situation, eventually forming a very powerful relationship with one another. The 12-episode third season begins production on Monday in Los Angeles. Ray Donovan stars Schreiber as LA’s best professional fixer, the man called in to make the city’s celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls’ most complicated and combustible situations go away.
McShane, repped by ICM Partners and Gallant Management, will next star as a corrupt judge in Dan Pritzker’s biopic Bolden and opposite Patrick Wilson in The Man On Carrion Road. His previous feature credits include Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Hercules, Cuban Fury, Jack And The Giant Slayer, Snow White And The Huntsman, among others. On the TV side, he earned a Golden Globe for his role as Al Swearengen on Deadwood, along with Emmy and SAG noms for the role. His other TV work includes Emmy-nominated The Pillars Of Earth and American Horror Story.
