Looks like the Tyler Perry drama just got a bit more – viewers that is. The official Season 2 premiere of The Haves And The Have Nots drew 3.22 million viewers on OWN last night. That’s not only a season-premiere record for the Georgia-based series but also for the network’s entire history. Last night’s debut was up 16% from the viewership of the Season 1, Part 2 premiere on January 7, 2014, the previous record holder with 2.8 million viewers, which was up 57% from the series’ debut on May 28, 2013.

With episodes for the Perry-created series having been spaced out, the network officially refers to all 2013 and 2014 broadcasts as Season 1.

While Haves And Have Nots set the premiere record, it did not break the network’s series or viewership record. That’s still held by the show’s Season 1 midseason finale of March 11, 2014, which pulled in 3.6 million viewers. That was up 38% in total viewers from the Season 1, Part 1 finale on September 3, 2013.
