Did Golden Globes Just Reveal Their 2015 Best Picture Winners?

Could Sunday night be a very good night for Selma and Into The Woods? Well, if you happened to be on the Golden Globes website earlier today, you would have seen the Paramount-released former appear as the winner for Best Motion Picture, Drama, and the Disney-released latter getting Best Motion Picture, Musical Or Comedy. Was someone over at the HFPA a little to0 fast on the old keyboard? Well, kind of.

The titles popped up underneath images for 2014 winners 12 Years A Slave and American Hustle but soon were Golden Globes Logoreplaced. Selma is nominated along with Boyhood, Foxcatcher, The Imitation Game and The Theory Of Everything, and Into The Woods is vying against Birdman, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Pride and St. Vincent.

Such an online leak would not be unprecedented. Back in late 2012, the SAG Awards nominees showed up on the union website hours before the official announcement.

In this case, the Globes gang says it was just a glitch and nothing was revealed.

“While testing the official website of the Golden Globe Awards for Sunday’s ceremony, Bluefin inadvertently took the test live,” a spokesperson for the tech company told me this afternoon. “We randomly selected two film titles with no knowledge of the category winners. We are solely responsible for the error.”
According to the HFPA’s regulations for the annual ceremony produced by dick clark productions, only the good folk at Ernst & Young have access to the winners list. They aren’t supposed to hand over anything until Sunday’s NBC telecast or let anyone else know who will be giving an acceptance speech.
So it looks like we — along with the crew and cast of Selma and Into The Woods — will have to wait a couple of days to know for sure.
    1. Grammar Nazi, dick clark productions does not capitalize their name. Do a little easy research before spouting off like an idiot.

      1. That’s funny. The history of award shows say you are absolutely wrong. It would be more accurate to say that you think that because it was about BLACKS it SHOULDN’T win an award!!!

      1. I have to agree with biji. I’m not a Wes Anderson fan but I loved Grand Budapest. Meanwhile, I couldn’t believe how much of a trainwreck Into the Woods turned out to be.

  1. Who cares? I mean… seriously? More intrigue??? Headlines getcha every time. Get the scoop on the hollywood poop. ok. moving on.

  2. I often think it would be nice to see the Golden Globe awards. Then I come to my senses and do something else.

  3. Saw the headline, “Golden Globes reveal”… and immediately I assumed that some starlet or two had lost her top. So disappointed.
