ACE Eddie Award Nominations Unveiled

The American Cinema Editors have revealed nominations for their 65th annual ACE Eddie Awards, which recognize the year’s outstanding editing in 10 film, TV and documentary categories. A tie has resulted in six nominees in the marquee Best Edited Feature Film race, with noms going to American Sniper, Boyhood, Gone Girl, The Imitation Game, Nightcrawler and Whiplash. It’s only the second time the group has had to add a nominee in a category. Ballots are due back January 21 and the wards will be presented January 30 at the Beverly Hilton. Here’s the full list announced this morning:

  2. Nice to see a popular, awesome film like Guardians of the Galaxy get a nomination-I guess its humorous moments got it in the Comedy category, while another great edited film like Captain America: Winter Soldier wasn’t able to break through into the Drama category.
    As for television, there is no way any episode of Mad Men, or any of the nominees, for that matter, is better edited than any episode of The Walking Dead,
