Discovery Communications has inked a long-term distribution deal with the nonprofit National Cable Television Cooperative to continue delivery of the company’s 13 U.S. networks. The pact gives NCTC member companies TV Everywhere rights through subscriber authentication on multiple National Cable Television Cooperative logodevices. The agreement covers Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery, Science, OWN, Discovery Family Channel, American Heroes Channel, Discovery Fit & Health (which rebrands as Discovery Life Channel on January 15), Discovery en Español, Discovery Familia, Velocity and Destination America.

“This renewed agreement is a testament to that commitment and ensures customers of NCTC member companies will continue, for many years ahead, to have access to Discovery’s unmatched family of networks,” said Eric Phillips, President of Domestic Distribution at Discovery Communications. Said Judy Meyka, EVP Programming at Kansas-based NCTC, “This new agreement allows all members full participation rights and is an example of Discovery’s commitment to build strong partnerships with independent distributors.”
