Nightcrawler star Jake Gyllenhaal and The Affair‘s Golden Globe winner Ruth Wilson are making their Broadway debuts together in Nick Payne’s intimate little play Constellations, and, as I say in my video review above, doing a fine job of it.
They’re both experienced stage actors and are terrific in this 70-minute show, in which two people try to connect despite the playwright’s loopy playfulness regarding time and space.
Big balloons blink on and off, scenes get repeated, but something genuine emerges. Think Love Story meets The Twilight Zone.
Watch the video and, if you’re in the New York area, are you hoping to see the show? Let us know what you think.
