Abrams Artists Agency is establishing a lit representation business in Los Angeles with the hire of Paul Weitzman and Brad Rosenfeld of Preferred Artists Agency. The two are bringing a roster of writers, directors and producers that includes Becky Mann and Audra Sielaff (The McCarthys, Modern Family, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia), Julia Ruchman (Odyssey, Covert Affairs) as well as directors Eric Dean Seaton, Shannon Flynn, Adam Weissman, Jody Hahn, Trevor Kirschner, Roger Christiansen, Steven R. Monroe, Amanda Bearse and Craig Moss.
Abrams Artist Agency, known for its strong presence in New York, was founded in 1977 as a talent agency and got into the lit business a decade ago with a New York-based department co-headed by Charles Kopelman and Sarah Douglas, which employs 8 agents. Existing Abrams lit clients include David Mamet, Tracy Letts, Anna D. Shapiro, Maury Yeston, Richard Maltby, David Ives, Bill Rauch and Irene Mecchi. Top publishing agent Steve Ross, who heads Abrams’ book division, reps authors Robbie Rogers, Dr. John Pilley, Samantha Futterman and Anais Bordier, Diane Guerrero, Andrew Hunt.
