Stephen Colbert has dismissed Sen. John McCain’s objections to President Obama’s appointment of Colleen Bell, former The Bold And The Beautiful producer, as ambassador to Hungary.

“Sure Colleen Bell has no experience with foreign service or special knowledge about the nation of Hungary,” Colbert said on last night’s The Colbert Report. But “The Bold And The Beautiful is perfect training to be an ambassador. Hungary is a region rife with drama and constant threat of violence — exactly the situation the Forrester family routinely handles from their palatial estate while simultaneously running their fashion empire.”

On the other hand, Colbert already has close ties to the country, having had a bridge there named after him, and receiving an honorary citizenship by Hungary’s ambassador to the U.S. because,  “I’m on TV.”
