ABC and ABC Studios have made a late drama buy, taking in a spec script written by Windfall creator Gwendolyn Parker and executive produced by The Smurfs producer Jordan Kerner. This marks feature producer Kerner’s return to ABC where he was a drama development executive in the 1980s.

Tentatively titled High Profile, the project tells the story of Shauna McDaniel, the survivor of a high-profile crime as a child, who is now a tough but tormented FBI agent heading up a nationwide unit dedicated to investigating “crimes of the century”, all while juggling a push-pull attachment to an ex-husband who might be the love of her life and a present girlfriend who seems to accept that Shauna might be too damaged for love. Sexy, impulsive and fearless, Shauna has an instinctive approach to the interviewing of witnesses, potential suspects and the press. Kerner and Parker executive produce, with Ben Harber, Kerner’s executive at his Kerner Entertainment, attached as a producer.

Parker’s series credits include Law & Order: SVU and Without A Trace. Parker and Kerner are repped by Paradigm; Parker’s attorney is Jamie Mandelbaum; Kerner is with Chuck Scott.
