After another brief moment of “will he or won’t he,” Howard Stern announced on his radio show this morning that he will be returning for another turn as a judge on NBC’s America’s Got Talent. The summer competition reality series’ upcoming 10th season airs in 2015.
“I decided that a life without AGT is not a life worth living,” he said in a statement. “America needs a caring, compassionate and wise judge and who am I to deny the people what they want? It would be selfish of me to walk away.”
Stern, one of the highest-paid personalities in reality TV with a salary said to be in the neighborhood of $15 million a season, joined AGT with much fanfare in 2012. There wasn’t a major bump following his arrival but AGT has been pretty consistent and a solid summer performer. As it has been case the previous two years, NBC is starting off by locking in Stern, with the other judging spots filling in later. Last season’s panel included Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel.
