Lisa Edelstein (House), Paul Adelstein (Private Practice) and a really terrific Janeane Garofalo (The West Wing) star in Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, Bravo’s first foray into scripted television. As I say in my video review above, with some caveats, Girlfriends‘ is a worthy guide to the shoals of breakups among the moneyed classes of the Westside of Los Angeles.

The show’s executive producers are all TV veterans, including Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice), Meryl Poster (several Project Runway iterations, Chicago, Chocolat) and Dawn Parouse (Hatfields & McCoys, Prison Break).

The show debuts Tuesday night at 10 pm on Bravo. Buzz has already been helped by a comical controversy, over the show’s perhaps too-clever marketing poster that showed Edelstein flipping what looked like an obscene gesture but was in fact her ring finger, sans ring.

The show itself may be a first effort for Bravo in the competitive world of TV drama, but the network has done a solid job. Check out my review, then check out the show. Let us know what you think.
