USA Network has picked up its veteran medical drama Royal Pains for Seasons 7 and 8, each consisting of eight episodes. Season 8 will feature the series’ 100th episode. The last renewal of the USA-owned Royal Pains, from Universal Cable Prods. was also for two seasons, each made of 13 episodes. The series, starring Mark Feuerstein, previously had aired seasons of 16-18 episodes each.

Royal Pains, which wrapped its sixth season on September 2, remains a top 10 series on its night, averaging 3.36M total viewers. It is the second returning USA series to get a renewal, joining Suits. Pending is the renewal of Covert Affairs. The network also recently gave a second-season pickup of freshman drama Satisfaction. All those series are from UCP. USA recently signaled a retreat in comedy to focus on its core drama business.
