Richard Roundtree (Shaft, Desperate Housewives) has booked a multi-episode arc on NBC’s firefighter drama Chicago Fire. Roundtree will play Wallace Boden Sr, the father of Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker). He’s a retired detective who makes a surprise appearance in Chicago after the birth of his grandson, and his volatile relationship with his son causes friction during his visit. Roundtree is best known for his title role in the 1971 film Shaft. TV credits include Being Mary Jane, Diary Of A Single Mom and Heroes.
Jesse Carere (Skins) has joined the cast of Netflix’s Between, the survivalist thriller series created by Canadian writer/director Michael McGowan (Still Mine). It tells the story of a town under siege from a mysterious disease that has wiped out everybody except those 21 years old and under and chronicles the power vacuum that results when a government has quarantined a 10-mile diameter area and left the inhabitants to fend for themselves. Carere, repped by APA and The Artist Representation Company, will play Adam, a hacker with a deeply questioning mind, always observing to discern the truth behind the truth. Carere currently plays Ofe on MTV’s Finding Carter. Other recent credits include features The Stanford Prison Experiment, Teen Lust and There’s A Book For That.
