Newly stand-alone distributor and catalog outfit Millennium Entertainment still doesn’t have a new name but it does have a new VP Acquisitions: It said today it has hired ex-Paramount Home Media exec Jeff Deutchman for the post, in which he will help curate the company’s project pipeline.

At Paramount, Deutchman recently acquired Richard Linklater’s Boyhood and William H. Macy’s Rudderless for the home entertainment slate and oversaw customized release strategies for those titles. He came there from IFC Films, where he helped discover and buy titles like Blue Is The Warmest Color, Cave Of Forgotten Dreams and The Human Centipede.

In September, Millennium closed a senior revolving credit facility and term loan facility worth $40 million. They helped finance Millennium and Virgo Investment Group’s August buyout of previous owners including Avi Lerner’s Nu Image.
